Nestled at the foot of rolling hills with the tranquil Waihi River running through it, Geraldine is a place where you can relax, go fishing, walk in the bush and look back at history. It is also a base for high energy sports such as white water rafting, mountain biking, skiing and tramping.
What a great place for a family holiday. or stop over on your way to Mt Cook, the Southern Lakes or Dunedin. The Geraldine holiday home is a sunny and warm house located in a quiet street with a view of the rolling downs out the kitchen window. There is a log fire and feather-down duvets for winter and in the hot summer days a BBQ and outdoor furniture off the living and dining areas. You can leave the car in the garage. The house is is located two minutes walk to the cafes and shops, bush walks, Waihi river, playground and heated swimming pool (Nov-March). There are 3 beautiful river gorges nearby. It is just 40 minutes drive to Lake Opua and 1 hour to Lake Tekapo. Four skifields are within 1-1.5 hours drive. The house is well equipped including video, microwave and children's toys. There is a large lounge making the house ideal for a couple of families or a group of friends.
